Planning electrical work in Cornwall?

Answers about renovations, commercial projects, electrical permits and what to include in your estimate request.

When should I bring an electrician into my project?

As early as possible, especially for a full renovation, addition or new build. Discussing circuits, lighting, equipment and panel locations before framing and finishes are complete gives everyone more room to plan.

Can you handle a complete rewire or commercial renovation?

Yes. Our work includes home rewiring, commercial wiring, panel and service work, lighting and new construction. Tell us the property type, location and stage of the project so we can discuss the right next step.

Do I need an electrical permit in Cornwall, and who handles it?

Most electrical work in Ontario needs an ESA notification of work, often called an electrical permit. When you hire a Licensed Electrical Contractor, that contractor files the notification before work starts and requests the required inspections. Confirm those steps in your project scope. A municipal building permit is separate and may also be needed. After ESA accepts the work, ask for a copy of the Certificate of Acceptance for your records.

What should I send when requesting an estimate?

Include the project location, property type, work you have in mind and preferred timing. Mention any drawings or equipment specifications you have. Existing wiring, access and service equipment may need an on-site review before the scope can be confirmed.
